When you join Railroad Workers United, you unite with a growing network of railroaders who strive to build solidarity, unity, and democracy among the railroad workers and the rail unions of North America. Most members also pay dues to their respective trade union. Full membership is open to all active railroad workers, railroad retirees, and family members. These members have full voice and vote

Solidarity Memberships
RWU offers all those workers in related industries the opportunity to join the organization in a “solidarity capacity.” The organization has a number of longshore workers and other logistics workers, as well as teachers and health care workers holding membership (These members may not assume office, set policy, nor vote on issues that come before governing bodies of RWU.)

Lifetime Memberships
For those who wish to become an RWU member for life, the fee (donation) is a one-time $1000 lump sum payment. Lifetime Members of RWU will remain in good standing from that point onward. NOTE: A Lifetime Members can be either Standard Member or a Solidarity Member (see those descriptions) and can make that one-time $1000 donations to either RWU or to RWF.
